Organization 

Fourth grade is a big transition year and your child will be doing many new things. Your child will be using a new file system to keep him/herself organized.  We will organize this at school, and empty together after the chapter tests. Graded papers that students will not need will be sent home in their Thursday communicator.

     

Homework 

In fourth grade we stress RESPONSIBILITY. We expect each child to be responsible for his/her own supplies, assignments, and total behavior. You should expect your child to have homework almost every night, with a lighter load on the weekend. This work will be kept in a homework folder (pocket folder). This folder will go home every night and be brought back the next day.

Assignment Notebook

The student assignment book is to be filled out by the student daily. This is to help your child get in the habit of being responsible for his/her own work. We will ask you to sign this daily. Parents are encouraged to write comments for teachers and/or students in the assignment notebook.

Absences 

If your child is absent, an assignment sheet will be filled out for him/her. It is his/her responsibility to get those assignments turned in to the teacher. As in school policy, NO homework will be given in advance for vacations.
